Angol B2 reading: 5 perces szövegértési gyakorlatok

Az alábbi B2 szintű angol olvasott szövegértési feladatokban hiányzó szavakat, mondatokat és kifejezéseket kell kiválasztani a szövegkörnyezet alapján. A feladatok a szókincs, a nyelvtan, a szövegkohézió és a logikai kapcsolatok felismerését gyakoroltatják.

A megoldás során először olvasd el a teljes szöveget, majd vizsgáld meg a hiányzó hely előtti és utáni mondatokat. Különösen figyelj az állandósult szókapcsolatokra, az igeidőkre, a kötőszavakra és arra, hogy az adott mondat hogyan kapcsolódik a szöveg gondolatmenetéhez.

1. feladat: Egy hároméves dohányzási és alkoholfüggősége

Ya Wen has been smoking up to a pack a day since the accident last year when she was hit by a speeding van. Is Jamie Oliver a national treasure? This young exuberant chef, who left school without any academic qualifications, burst onto British TV screens a decade ago. He was bubbling with enthusiasm, but perhaps a little annoying.

1 Maybe this was because he seemed too much of a do-gooder: the golden boy who liked to visit his grandma and spoke readily of his love for his wife, Jools.

2 This is probably thanks to his willingness to receive sponsorship from one of Britain’s leading supermarket chains, and his unwillingness to cook with food not locally and organically sourced.

3 He has recently officially become Britain’s bestselling author. He has defeated not only the literary efforts of authors such as Khaled Hosseini and JK Rowling, but has also outsold those of his fellow celebrity chefs.

4 More than a mere celebrity chef, he has become the ‘Chosen One’. He holds meetings with the Prime Minister. He changes supermarket policy. He cooks for heads of state and Hollywood stars.

5 He has his own magazine, a website, a blog and his shows are broadcast in many countries overseas.

Oliver might still have his critics, but it appears they are seriously outnumbered these days.

6 He is a chef who is on our side, who has used his position of powers to expose injustices and to educate. He is a man who surely has the makings of a proper national treasure for the UK.

A szöveg értelmezésének fő szempontjai

A szöveg Jamie Oliver pályafutását, társadalmi megítélését és közéleti hatását mutatja be. A hiányzó mondatoknak ezért nemcsak nyelvtanilag, hanem tartalmilag is kapcsolódniuk kell az előző és a következő részhez.

A levels of satisfaction kifejezés illeszkedik a drop dramatically igéhez, mert az elégedettségi szintek csökkenéséről van szó. A two basic traits szerkezetet a cím is előkészíti, ezért ez természetesen kapcsolódik a tartósan boldog párok jellemzéséhez.

A wedding month kifejezést a June, vagyis június magyarázza. A divorce and separation a házasságok lehetséges végkimeneteleivel kapcsolódik össze, míg a healthy, lasting relationship közvetlenül az ingredients of szerkezet után áll.

A something toxic szerkezet a share something in common kifejezés része. A breakdown of kindness a kapcsolatok romlásának okát nevezi meg, a less effort pedig a put less effort into something állandósult szerkezetbe illik.

A szöveg végén a the first few years időhatározói kifejezésként kapcsolódik a within elöljáróhoz, a kindness and generosity pedig a spirit of szerkezet után alkot értelmes kifejezést.

B2 reading feladatmegoldási stratégia öt percben

1. Olvasd el a címet és az első mondatokat. Ezek általában megmutatják a szöveg témáját és a hiányzó rész szerepét.
2. Figyeld a nyelvtani környezetet. Ellenőrizd, hogy főnévre, igére, melléknévre vagy kötőszóra van-e szükség.
3. Keresd az állandósult kifejezéseket. Ilyen például az on credit, az in protest vagy a put less effort into.
4. Vizsgáld meg az utalószavakat. A this, he, they, such as és these gyakran visszautalnak egy korábbi információra.

6. Használd ki a két felesleges választ. A nem illő kifejezések kizárása gyakran gyorsabb, mint minden lehetőség teljes elemzése.
7. A végén olvasd újra a teljes szöveget. Ellenőrizd az igeidőket, az elöljárókat, a névmási utalásokat és a logikai kapcsolatokat.
