Miért utaznak az emberek külföldre?
Travelling abroad has become much easier in the past 20 years, because it is more simple to plan your trip based on the information you can find on the internet. In the past only wealthy people could afford holidays but these days many people go abroad. The seaside in the summer, and ski resorts in the winter are the most popular destinations for Hungarians.
Young people often travel to find out more about the world. Backpackers are interested in exotic places and different cultures. These days it is possible to travel on a budget and families often go on package holidays to Greece, Italy or Croatia.
Travelling on business is different; trips are often short, hectic and tiring. We can see more and more pensioners going on holiday tours, visiting famous cities and beauty spots. After retiring, it is easier to go abroad because they don’t have a job to worry about and they can avoid the summer crowds. In Hungary, however, many elderly people cannot afford to go abroad because pensions are low.
People often travel on business, for pleasure, for relaxation or even for education or for their health. I also like travellling very much. I don’t think there are any people in the world who don’t like travelling. People love moving around: they travel both inland and abroad.
Az utazás megtervezése és előkészítése
First of all, if I want to go abroad, I go to a travel agency and ask them what they can offer. Then I choose the tour or place that I like and start thinking about what things I will need for the journey.
Besides organizing travel and accommodation, it is a good idea to take out travel insurance. If you have no time to sort this out, you can go to a travel agency, where they are can book your flight and accommodation, too.
If I decide to go abroad I have to get all the necessary documents. If I decide to go on an individual tour I have to arrange the accommodation for myself. Before travelling you have to pack some of your clothes, your toilet goods such as your toothbrush and comb. It is good to take a camera with you as well.
Szükséges dokumentumok
In the European Union, personal documents are necessary to identify yourself: you need an ID card or a passport. Before going abroad to other parts of the world, always check if you need a visa.
If you want to travel abroad you need a passport and some foreign currency. There are some countries for which you also need a visa.
At the customs you are asked to show your passport and you may also be asked to show your luggage to the customs officials. If you have something to declare you are asked to fill in a form and pay some duty on the goods that are not duty-free.

I think the quickest and most comfortable way of travelling abroad is flying. I have flown. I think it is a very comfortable and fast way of travelling, but I didn't really enjoy flying especially when I sat next to the window and looked at the clouds.

Egy emlékezetes külföldi nyaralás Olaszországban
I would like to speak about the most memorable holiday of my life. Last year me and my class travelled to Italy and we stayed there for a week. Just for your information, this is a tradition at my school that 12th graders take a trip to Italy.
We travelled by bus, we decided to set off at midnight and it took more than 12 hours to get there, and the journey was terrible. We stopped very rarely at gas stations and each stop lasted for at least an hour.
However, we had a very good time on the bus, we were watching films, listening to music and sometimes we even sang a few songs just to kill time. We didn’t sleep a second and we were talking all the way and the bus driver was very annoyed by this.
We crossed Slovenia on the way there, which was breathtaking because we got to see huge mountains and we could eat traditional Slovenian foods at a petrol station. Finally we arrived at around noon at a place called Cavallino, which is a seaside place and it is also very famous for its marketplace.
A szállás és az első programok
We occupied the accommodation which was in caravans. Four of us stayed in one caravan and we had lots of fun there. On the first day we went down to the beach, and although the weather was cold, we still had a good swim in the sea, and one of my friends took a lot of photos.
Next morning we went to a marketplace and I bought a very good quality t-shirt, and in the afternoon we spent our time by the sea again. When we didn’t travel, we were hanging out by the sea, and at night we had very good conversations.
Városnézés és kirándulások
On day three we went to Venice, which is a fascinating town full of history and beautiful buildings. We argued a lot but finally we decided to take a gondola-ride with my friends and it was amazing.
On the remaining days we headed for Padova which is also a great city. We also visited Verona and Sirmione, and took a stunning boat-ride on Lake Garda.
When I am on holiday I like to see as many new things as possible. I enjoy walking around busy towns, and meeting as many people as possible. I like going out in the evenings, visiting good pubs, clubs, cafés and having a lot of fun.
I also like to go to nice and quiet places for my holiday. I love spending my holiday in the country or on a quiet and peaceful seaside beach. I enjoy swimming, having a good drink, enjoying the delicious and tasty specialities or taking long walks along the sea-shore and going hiking or going on outings to the forests / woods.

The food and the people are just awesome in Italy. Everybody is very kind, and the pizzas and pastas are definitely something you shouldn’t miss.
Always try the local food when on a holiday. I enjoy swimming, having a good drink, enjoying the delicious and tasty specialities.

Foreigners in Hungary can stay in camping-sites, motels, often by the main road, and different kinds of hotel, one-star hotels, two-star hotels, three-star hotels, four or five-star hotels.
In summer they can also stay in guest houses because there are a lot of people who let their houses to foreigners at that time of the year, actually Lake Balaton is always packed with foreign tourists during the main season, Siófok is a holiday resort which is still very popular with tourists.

In a hotel they can usually offer you a choice of single rooms, double rooms, rooms with three or more beds, rooms with showers or with baths. If you are in a seaside hotel some rooms overlook the sea, other rooms may overlook the main road or the park.

When you are booking a room you always agree on the type of the room you want, the price and the number of nights you are going to spend there.

When you arrive at the convenient hotel you check in. You fill in the registration form writing down your personal data, the room number and the number of nights you want to spend at the hotel. The reception clerk will then give you the key and will show you up to your room.

Vásárlás közben
A nagyobb boltokban viszonylag könnyű helyzetben vagyunk. Az árakat látjuk kiírva, kimondottan nagy tétje pedig nincs a tévedésnek. Természetesen kellemetlen, ha nem találunk valamit, s gyorsabb, ha rákérdezünk.

A nyaralás lezárása és a hazautazás
We were very sad when the last day came but we were also happy because we knew that this would be a memory for a lifetime. We packed our luggage and set off for home.
The journey was even more tiring than the way there, and everybody was really exhausted. When I got home, I slept until noon, and woke up wanting to turn back time and start the whole vacation over.
