Menjünk végig a fontosabb helyiségeken.
Kezdjük mindenképpen a környék félig-alapos bemutatásával. Megadhatjuk a hely típusát, jellegét, illetve néhány szóval leírhatjuk, mit is látni arra pontosan, kik laknak arra, stb.
I live in a small town near Budapest. It is quiet. I like it! There are hills and mountains around the city. The houses in our street are small and old. There aren’t any sky-scrapers of course!
On our town there are four schools. There is also a sports centre with a swimming pool. Our school is just opposite the sports centre. It’s cool!
The supermarket is between a clothes shop and a newsagent’s. These are not expensive shops. Opposite the supermarket there is a café, a hairdresser and a small hotel.
The church is in the town center. Opposite the church there is a small italian restaurant and a bank. Next to the restaurant there is an interesting shop with creative gift ideas. It is not cheap but exciting! This is my favourite shop in the town. I also like the pet shop!

A ház vagy lakás bemutatásának mintája
I would like to speak about the house where I live. This a detached house and it is situated / located in the suburbs of Debrecen. My neighbourhood is mainly built up by detached and semi-detached houses, and you can find parks, bushes and a lot of trees in the area. You can see young married couples and lots of children in the streets.
A ház külseje
Innentől jöhet magának a háznak a jellemzése. Kezdjük a ház külsejével.
Let me tell you about my house in general. As I said, I live in a detached house, which is actually a two-storey one. It is pretty large, and the walls are painted light green on the outside.
You can see a balcony on the top floor and a beautiful fence next to the pavement. We moved into this house 10 years ago and it was built some 25 years ago, but it looks really modern.
I live in a two-storey detached house. There are some trees in front of our house. There is a small garden with a wooden fence behind the house. We have got a loft, a garage and a cellar too.
It’s a renovated house, but we always have some work with it! On the roof we have got a skylight. In the house we have got central heating.

A kert, a garázs és a szabadtéri terület
Még ne siessünk be, maradjunk kint a jó levegőn a kertben! Mutassuk be, mit találhatunk itt, mit szoktunk itt csinálni, esetleges állatokat, gyümölcsösöket és zöldségültetvényeket. Néha mehet bele egy kevés humor is.
Now I would like to say a few things about our garden. I think I am lucky, as we have a great garden, which gives us the chance for a lot of things. There is a spacious lawn where I can lie on a blanket when the weather is good.
We grow vegetables in the garden, and also we have a small orchard so there is always fresh fruit on the table. There is a separate barbecue place in the back of the garden, so me and my parents often have people over for little parties.
Oh and I almost forgot: we have two dogs and two cats, who really enjoy running around and destroying the vegetable plantations, haha!
In the garden we grow vegetables and we have some fruit-trees. In the garden we grow flowers and fresh vegetables and there are many fruit trees. Right behind the house there is a kennel.

A ház belső részei
Na most mehetünk be!
Now I am going to move on to describing the inside of our house. If you enter my house, you will see a little hall, where you can leave your coats and shoes.
The next room is the living room, where people hang out, watch TV and talk for long hours. My parents' bedroom, the kitchen and one of the two bathrooms open from the living room, and also there is a little staircase which leads up to the top floor.
This is where you can find my room, my sister's / brother's room and another bathroom.
On the ground floor there is a hall and a large kitchen, stairs to the first floor and a living room. Upstairs on the right there is a parents' bedroom with one large bed and many wardrobes, two little tables with lamps, an armchair and a small bookcase.
Opposite there are two children bedrooms. Next to the stairs there is a toilet and a bathroom with a large bathtub and a washbasin. On the walls there you can see lovely light-blue tiles with little flowers.

A saját szoba bemutatása
I would also like to tell you some details about my bedroom. This a relatively large, square-shaped room. When you enter it, the first thing you notice is that the walls are painted purple, as that is my favourite colour.
There is a huge window as I need a lot of light to stay happy and positive. You can find a desk under the window, and by the way, the window overlooks the whole neighbourhood.
I have a double bed, which is in the corner in front of the window. There is a large wardrobe for all my clothes, and there are loads of posters and pictures on the wall.
The best thing about my room is that I has a spacious balcony, where I like to sit and read, or talk to my friends. I have a laptop on my desk and a TV right in front of my bed, but I don't watch it too much as I am not satisfied with the quality of the programs.
In my room I have got a single bed, a desk, a wall unit and a bookcase. My mother’s room is similar.

Ház vagy lakás?
Lakás vagy kertes ház - hol élnél szívesebben? Ez a döntés egész életed alakíthatja! A kertes ház versus lakás vita minden családban felmerül előbb-utóbb.
A kertes ház előnyei és hátrányai
A kertes ház hívei a szabadtéri teret hangsúlyozzák - kertészkedhetsz, grillpartit szervezhetsz, a háziállatok is jobban érzik magukat.
A levegő is tisztább, szorosabb a kapcsolat a természettel.
In Hungary people usually live in a house or in a block of flats. People usually own houses in villages and most block of flats are situated in towns and cities. Houses are relatively big and they have a garden.
Most of the young people in here live with their parents because it is too expensive for them to buy your own house or flat. If they can afford, they leave home and buy a house or flat when they get married.
Sometimes more generations live in the same house - parents, children and grandchildren.
In Great Britain people usually live in terraced houses - they are joined together with other houses, semidetached houses - two houses are joined together with one wall or detached houses - they are not joined with another house.
Houses in Britain have a small garden or a paved yard. In London you can often see old Victorian houses, however block of flats are not very common there. Young people in Britain leave home much sooner than in Hungary.
The living conditions in the USA much more depend on how much money you have. Rich people have big houses with many rooms, tennis courts and swimming pools but many poor people are homeless.
Despite this, the standard of living is generally very high in the USA. In cities, people live in flats situated in large apartment buildings, but other people prefer living in houses which have a big garden.
Most of American people don’t stay in one house or apartment for their entire life, but they move very often. They sell their house and buy a new one in a different city or state because of work, possibilities, studies or for other reasons.
Bérlés, saját lakás és költözés
People sometimes change their abode, so they move. The main reasons are new or better job opportunities, they seek adventure, or they regard their actual dwelling boring.
People who want to spend just few years in a certain place do not buy houses, rather they rent flats. They are mainly preferred by youngsters who often study and work at different places.

| Do you own or do you rent your home? | I mortgage my house, so I have to pay the mortgage every month to the bank. |

| How many stories has the building got? | There are six stories in my building. |
| How big is your home? | My home is seventy square metres. I have five rooms altogether: there are two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a living room. I also have a small hall and a balcony. |
Az otthon érzése és a lakóhely megválasztása
House is a building, but home is more than a building - more than just four walls with a roof. It is the cooking, eating, talking, playing and the 'living' that happens inside. It is a place where people feel safe.
People tend to say 'Home is where the heart is' which means your home will always be the place for which you feel the deepest affection, no matter where you are.
Q: Are you happy in your home?
Yes, I am. My flat is quite central, and I can walk to work. It is also located in a quiet street, close to a park.
Unfortunately, I am not very happy with my home. It’s in the suburbs, so I have to travel a lot to go to work, and sometimes it is very dangerous to walk home alone on the streets at night in our neighbourhood.
Ökoházak és a jövő otthonai
An environmentally friendly house means that the house itself consumes less energy than a normal house. On the roofs are usually solar cells or solar collectors.
The first provides energy, the second provides warm water. These houses are usually built from materials which provide better insulation and does not pollute the environment.

Hajléktalanság és lakhatási problémák
Homeless people are people who have nowhere to live. They live in the streets for several reasons: some of them lost the job and therefore they have no money to pay for a flat.
Some of them lived with their family but they had to leave their house or flat because they had problems in their relationship - for example they got divorced and after they had nowhere to go.
Sometimes children who are orphans end up living in the street because when they are 18 years old and have to leave the children’s home.
People and organisations are trying to solve their problems. The government usually provide them heated buildings - so-called shelters - during the winter.
Non-profit organisations provide them food and other necessary things, such as cosmetics and clothing. Individuals can help their work by donating money to these organisations or directly by donating goods.

Maybe the only problem is its size: we have to do a lot of housework as it takes a long time to clean and maintain such a huge house, and when we finish one thing, we can just start another one. All in all, I would never give up this place!
